Prainha Beach

Prainha is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the Brazilian coast and it is not by chance. The first time I did the trail I went in search of Praia dos Italianos. The beach was named Prainha after the farm was acquired by surfwear entrepreneur Alfio Lagnado. A beautiful cove that offers perfect lefts, a real school for tubes. And in the right corner, a directive of great respect.
I had the privilege of surfing countless times on this beach, since I worked for many years at Condomínio Villas de São José and at Ecoresort, both on Praia de São José, next to Prainha.
To access the beach, you can take a trail that starts at Praia da Ribeira and lasts about an hour. It is recommended to do the trail with a guide, as the path has several forks and is not signposted. Another option is to drive to Embasa and walk the rest of the way (about 30 minutes). The beach offers a minimal structure, just a stall that sells coconut water, fruit, cocadas, baked cheese and drinks. It has showers and toilets. Another way to access Prainha is through the São José Beach Day Use.
